(What is the difference between the old and the new Bankomatiko)
The Bankomatiko smart cards will be mailed out to all customers starting the end of June.
On chip-enabled terminals worldwide:
On terminals that are not chip-enabled yet:
Just swipe your Bankomatiko smart card like you are used to do.
The point of sale terminal gives the instructions what to do. When a smart card is swiped in a chip-capable terminal you get a message like “Use chip reader”.
MCB will be replacing all of its point of sale terminals in Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and on the BES islands Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba to handle chip transactions. Due to the number of terminals involved, this replacement process will occur over a period of months and has already begun.
No, the chip on the Bankomatiko smart card does not work the same. There is no need to reload the chip on the Bankomatiko smart card. The new Bankomatiko card works the same way as your current card with the transaction amount automatically debited from your checking or savings account.
You will earn miles for all purchases made in Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and on the BES islands Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba. Fun Miles are not awarded for cash withdrawals.
You will earn 1 Fun Mile for every Naf 5 spent. For example you will earn 5 Fun Miles for a purchase of Naf 25.
Once your register your Fun Miles card at one of the 15 MCB branches or MCB@Home you automatically start earning Fun Miles with every purchase. If you have already registered your Fun Miles card, you will begin earning Fun Miles as soon as you begin making purchases with your new Bankomatiko smart card.
No, you still need your Fun Miles card to earn and redeem miles at the other Fun Miles partners. You will continue to use your Fun Miles card the same as you have in the past. Your Bankomatiko smart card is just an additional and simple way of earning miles.
Not exactly, MCB will give you miles when making purchases with the Bankomatiko smart card and the Fun Miles partner will also give you miles if you swipe your Fun Miles card at their establishment. The number of miles earned does not have to be double since the FM partners may have a different ratio of awarding miles.
